   I wrote one with all the features of the others (and more) called Pines Notify. It is ThemeRoller ready too, so it looks great with jQuery UI. Check it out.

   I took another stab at this… mine’s built on top of the UI widget factory, is <100 lines of code, no images, extremely simple, but can do pretty much everything the others do.

   Great stuff! Will be attempting to use number 4 in a current project. Just getting my feet wet with ajax at the moment, but jQuery really speeds things up.
