There are many grid templates out there for Photoshop and (i guess, but why?) for Illustrator as well. Grid calculator is an online grid generator that let’s you specify the maximum width of your page, the columns that you need and of course gutter and margin widths. After setting up the values that you need, just click Adobe Illustrator if you want the .ai file or click Adobe Photoshop and you will get a .jsx file. A .jsx file is a script that you can run in Photoshop and in our case it will setup the guides for you.

Some great news can be found at Adobe Labs. At MAX 2009, Adobe announced the next version of Flash (CS5) that will enable us to build applications for iPhone using Actionscript 3.0. A public beta is not available yet but Adobe says it will be available before the end of the year. If you want to learn more about it, keep an eye on Adobe Labs page for Flash CS5.

ColorSuckr: Extract colors from photos and make color schemes

A really nice little applications was recently launched called ColorSuckr. With ColorSuckr you can either upload a photo or search Flickr for one and ColorSuckr will extract colors and create a palette. For each color created you can get the Hex, RGB and Web Safe value and 6 suggestions from ColourLovers. A firefox add-on is also available.
